Two years of Bluewhite64 Linux, two new releases. I am delighted to announce the availability of Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1 LiveDVD and Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1 Flash (LiveUSB)!

I hope you will enjoy the new Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1 LiveDVD including the stable SMP Linux Kernel 2.6.24.7 with advanced features and performance. The Bluewhite64 12.1 Flash is specially designed to run entirely from a USB Flash Pen Drive with the possibility to choose your working environment from the beginning: Command Line Interface (CLI - recommended for servers) and/or Graphical User Interface (GUI - recommended for Desktop computers).

The "save changes" feature has been improved and enabled by default in this new version of Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1 Flash. It is done using "bw64save.dat" file which is a compressed image of empty loop XFS file system. Depending of the Pen Drive size, you will have different space size for saving your changes: for 2GB there is 375MB, for the 4GB is 2375MB, for the 8GB is 6395MB and for 32GB is 30400MB space available. Bluewhite64 12.1-rc2 released

We are reached the second release candidate of the upcoming stable release of Bluewhite64 12.1 Linux. Since the first RC, we have upgraded the Linux Kernel to version 2.6.24.5, added the latest stable Linux Kernel 2.6.25 in to the testing area and made it available as a test.s kernel during installation. Also, added the IA32 emulation for those who need to run 32-bit programs, this can be found in the extra software repository. Many other small cosmetic fixes has been merged. Please see the ChangeLog for more details.

There is a DVD iso available for download from the primary mirror, other mirrors should be updated soon.

Also, you can download via BitTorrent too.

Please TEST, TEST and TEST as much as you can and post the possible problems to the forum

Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1-rc1

The Bluewhite64 Linux --current development tree reached the first release candidate status. There are still some work to do like adding a test kernel for the final release and update the IA32 emulation. Right now there is no ISO provided, the RC2 may have one . Introducing Bluewhite64 Linux 12.0 Flash, the world first flash pen drive which include both Server and Desktop software.

Bluewhite64 Linux 12.0 Flash is based on a recently released Bluewhite64 12.0-LiveDVD-r1 and includes the updated packages from the Bluewhite64 12.0 patches directory which fixes one or more possible security issues, an updated Linux Kernel 2.6.24.2 with advanced features and performance, the newly added "changes" feature which allows you to save changes to the pen drive or a HDD Linux partition, an updated version of ALICE 0.9.13, and may more.

Bluewhite64 12.0-LiveDVD-r1 released

I am pleased to announce Bluewhite64 12.0-Live-DVD-r1, a maintenance release of the Bluewhite64 12.0-LiveDVD version.

Many packages have been updated and new features added. Merged updated packages from the Bluewhite64 12.0 patches directory which fixes one or more possible security issues, the kernel has been updated to the latest stable version 2.6.24 including tickless system support, Virtualization, more wireless drivers support and many more (details can be found here). Also, another important features of this releas are KDE 3.5.8 in 65 languages, MPlayer 1.0rc2 media player and ALICE (Advanced Linux Installation and Configuration Environment) with six GUI managers, wrote in QT, which will help you to easily manage different system settings.

Bluewhite64 torrents and a new mirror

The linuxtracker.org, which keep the Bluewhite64 torrents, changed his site and back end, so, all Bluewhite64 torrents need to be recreated and uploaded with a new announce address. At the Get Bluewhite64 section you will find the new torrents for the Bluewhite64 Install DVD and CD`s. The miniLive torrent is also updated and can be downloaded from the Bluewhite64 miniLive page. The LiveDVD is not yet updated because I'm working on a new version, Bluewhite64 12.0-LiveDVD-r1, which will be released after the 2.6.24 kernel is out. If you seeding using old version of torrents they are still working until February 1'st and I recommend you to download the new ones and save over the existing ISOs. In this way you keep seeding alive to the new Bluewhite64 users. Thanks!

I'm happy to announce that the Bluewhite64 Linux 12.0 LiveDVD is ready for download!

Bluewhite64 Linux 12.0 Live DVD runs entirely from DVD and includes all packages from Bluewhite64 Linux 12.0 (except the Y and KDEi software series) and the updated packages from the patches directory. Also, in addition to this version, I have included extra packages created by the Bluewhite64 Linux community. Thanks to all for such a great work!
