I'm happy to announce a new version of the Bluewhite64 Linux 13.0 LiveDVD is ready for download. This new version brings the possibility to boot the DVD in KDE (4.3.2), Xfce (4.6.1) or to the command line interface from the beginning.
The LiveDVD is powered by the Linux Kernel 2.6.31.5 with advanced features and optimized for performance. Also, you will find the award winning K Desktop Environment version 4.3.2 and the Xfce 4.6.1; the Mozilla Firefox 3.5.5 and Seamonkey 2.0 (including Flash and 64-bit Java plugins), the Mozilla Thunderbird and K-mail e-mail clients, the OpenOffice 3.1.1 suite, newly added supertuxkart and foobillard games; Blender - open source, cross platform suite of tools for 3D creation; the IA32 Emulation to run 32-bit programs; Gambas, Kmymoney2, Scribus, Wine and many more.

Bluewhite64 13.0 is released!
This new version of Bluewhite64 brings many new and interesting features, improvements and packages updates. I like to share with you just a few and the important ones, but if you are interested to see all of them you have to download and install Bluewhite64 13.0

The first major change is a new and improved package format, we have switched to the LZMA compression algorithm to reduce the packages size and improve the decompression speed. In this way, the new packages extension changed from .tgz to .txz. Also, the package tools has been improved to work with the new packages and support other extensions like .tbz and .tlz.

Bluewhite64 Linux 13.0-RC2 is out!
Ladies and gentleman, this is Bluewhite64 Linux 13.0 second release candidate announcement !
I will not say here to much about this Release candidate release, I reserve my words for the final one P. Just a few notes about what we are "cooking" here.
As you may know the KDE 4.3 release is going to be happen soon, so we are already packaging and testing this release of KDE4, I'd like to be included in the Bluewhite64 Linux 13.0 stable version.
PLEASE TEST this RC version because it is the only one with an ISO release and post the problems, suggestions, fixes to the Bluewhite64 Linux forums. A full list of changes for this Release candidate can be read at the ChangeLog.
P.S. This RC has the latest stable Linux Kernel 2.6.30.4

This release is built on a fresh install of the standard version of Bluewhite64 Linux 12.2 and includes all patches packages from the patches directory, the Kernel version 2.6.27.10 and the KDE 4.2 Beta 2. Also, in addition to this release, we have added KDE4 applications like Amarok 2.00, Guidance Power Manager, Ktorrent 3.2 beta, KDE3 runtime libraries which allows you to run KDE3 applications, the IA32 emulation libraries to allow 32-bit programs to run, the ALICE 0.9.18 and his managers and the BW64 installer for those who want to install the LiveDVD to a HDD. Also, the browsers are flash ready, native 64-bit flash.

Bluewhite64 Linux 12.2 is released!
Bluewhite64 Linux 12.2 brings new features and important updates since the previous release. Some of them includes a new Linux Kernel 2.6.27.7 with advanced features and performance, new feature which will allow you to install Bluewhite64 Linux 12.2 via Samba shares. Also, this release includes newly added packages like pm-utils (Power Management Utilities), sqlite 3.6.6.2 (simple, self contained database engine), wicd (wired and wireless network manager for Linux). Some of the updated packages include KDE 3.5.10 and xfce 4.4.3 Desktop Environments, Mozilla Firefox 3.0.4 and Seamonkey 1.1.13 web browsers, Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.18 and KMail 1.9.9 email clients.
